This letter to the editor is in response to Environmental Health News' recent commentary piece entitled Debates pitch climate change shutout.
Dear Mr. Dykstra and editors,
Your editorial would be wonderful if it didn't feel the need to be even handed, and suggest that discussing "pussy" is tawdry, or take us into he said/she said territory. Americans should care if their president is a sexual predator; sexual harassment and sexual assault are not petty.
Americans should care if their president is a sexual predator; sexual harassment and sexual assault are not petty.You can criticize the lack of substance in the debates and in journalism more generally without diminishing the very real concerns of millions of women who have been threatened by harassment and assault.
I'm surprised the editors didn't think for one minute about the false binary you've created where somehow women's very real concerns about bodily integrity get placed in opposition to environmental concerns.
As Trump might say, "Bad....very bad."
