Ameren must pay for coal plant's illegal pollution, court filing says

The U.S. Department of Justice wants Ameren to develop “a suite of proposals” — from planting trees to installing air filtration in schools — to atone for longstanding air pollution at its second-biggest coal-fired power plant, according to newly released court documents.
